We concentrate on creative dramatics rather than construction/arts and crafts.
For Kids:
One of our specialties is creative dramatics with puppets for children. We bring bags of puppets into the classroom and have "hands on" practice with the children. Workshops are generally 50 minutes or one class period, although we also offer a two-hour version.

Five Minutes
Demonstration of the four major styles of puppets: hand, rod, string, and shadow

Ten Minutes
Distribute puppets to students, practice manipulation techniques and vocal techniques

Ten Minutes
Pairing with partner, practice vocal and manipulation techniques.

Ten Minutes
New puppet characters, new partner, repeat part three.

Fifteen Minutes
In groups of threes, develop a skit around a known fairytale i.e. The Three Pigs

In a two hour workshop, students present skits for fellow classmates.

For Teachers/Adults:
We offer teacher training workshops. This is also a "hands on" creative dramatics workshop that will empower teachers to utilize puppetry in their classroom. (See For Kids for general format) OUR SPECIALTY: intergrating curriculum, decision making, values education, and social studies into the skits to teach lessons.

For College Credit:
Michael Cotter, a company founder and director, has been adjunct professor of theatre at the University of Maryland, College Park since 1996. His course TTH 499P is an exciting look at contemporary trends in adult puppet theatre and a production class with the course revolving around student final presentations.
