"Smashing! The Barker of Seville was hilarious! Blue Sky is headed for big things!"
- National Theater

Cast
Rufus: Went to Wolfter Academy for High School and University of Indiana for undergrad as a Voice Major. His first role was as Tramp in a Lady and the Tramp production in fifth grade and was hooked. He is half Golden Retriever, half Chesapeake Bay Retriever and never saw water he didn't want to swim in. Was a lifeguard during high school, has long outgrown "fetch", but still enjoys an occasional game of Frisbee. Thought "Cats & Dogs" unfairly portrayed cats.
Rosa: A purebred Dalmatian, Rosa is a recent graduate of Guillard in NYC, graduating with the distinguished medal "Beverly Sills Pointer", as outstanding student. Rosa's a tireless runner, having competed the last three years in the Boston Marathon. Her parents are firehouse guards and Rosa has been known to miss an occasional note when a siren goes by. Her stage debut was as a chorus member in a Broadway production of Mary Poopins.
Poppa Pippicinco: Comes from a long line of Italian Regal Bulldogs. He has run Poppa Pippicinco's Pizza Parlor since 1984 when it opened in Adams Morgan. Loves music and pasta and marks as his happiest day when Placido Dogmingo sang after saying it was the best restaurant in Washington, D.C.
Leonardo: Full name Leonardo Vesta Poochie Provoloney Hold the Mustard Full of Boloney. He is rumored to be at least half wolf. He nearly graduated from the University of Grenada and sources whisper/say that his rise to fame has been coincidental to the mysterious disappearance of each of his rivals for a part.
Houn Dog: Is a full-blooded West Virginia Hound with legendary powers of smelling, which he claims can be more annoying than you'd imagine. He first learned music as a trombone player in the Hyattsville Middle School Jazz Band. He dropped out of Northwestern High School in his junior year to concentrate on making it with music. He has frequently supported himself delivering papers and guarding cars. First professional gig was at the Crossroads in Bladensburg. His dream: to open for Snoop Doggy Dog at MCI Center.
Dr. Bonehead: One of Washington, D.C.'s most popular vocal teachers, Beauregard Excelsior Sir Charles Trumpeter Magnadon (AKC name) Dr. Bonehead, as he's affectionately known, is a full-bred English Sheepdog. Educated at The Royal Academy in London, this expat Brit lists Rod Stewart and Tom Waits as two of his more successful students. Favorite movie: Best of Show.
Barkus: An American Standard Boxer, is a graduate of Yale Drama School where he part timed as the school mascot. He's worked as a locksmith and sparring partner for Lennox lewis. He sings baritone in the Marcus & Barkus duo, and has a fondness for scattering trash throughout the house if left unattended for more than three hours.
Marcus: The Doberman Marcus Teesdale (half of the Marcus & Barkus backup singers), has been touring with Hound dog and The House Breakers the last three years since being rescued by the Hound dog from the pound. He sings tenor, is great around children, is an exceptional equipment watch dog, and is fiercely loyal to Hound dog, as you can imagine. Much to the dismay of his friends, he has recently fallen head over heels in love with FIFI, a miniature champion poodle.
Bowser: James "Bowser" Townsend graduated from Shenandoah School of Music in 1998. Although young, he has extensive stage and film singing credits, most notably, voice over singing on recent Alpo commercials. Bowser is looking forward to studying in Paris at "Le Canine Etudies de Bow Wow" this summer.
